Poland Township Police Department D.A.R.E. Program
A Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program has been in existence for over 21 years. It is taught in the Holy Family School as well as the Poland School System at the fifth grade level. The purpose of this program is to educate students on what drugs can do to you and ways to say no as well as how to feel good about yourself thus keeping drug free and out of trouble.

Poland Township Senior Watch Programs
The Poland Township Trustees have sponsored the “Poland Township Senior Watch Programs” mainly for the benefit of township’s senior citizens, but others may benefit as well. Shut-ins, wheelchair bound or SSL recipients are some additional examples.
How it works
This application can be obtained at the Administration Building or download below.
The application asks for pertinent information and requests the client to choose which program they would like to be enrolled in.
The least intrusive program are the “Check In” and “Elderly Call” and the most comprehensive is the “Senior Watch”. Once the application is forwarded to the Police Department, it would be entered in our database and a schedule would be set for the client based on the program selected.

PROGRAMS AVAILABLE:

Check In Program
Senior citizens who may live alone, have the opportunity to become part of our call in program. They will decide on a day and time that they will call in or check in with the Police Department. If a call is missed then an officer will call them or stop over to see if everything’s Okay.

Elderly Call Program
The senior citizen is part of our elderly call list.
On designated days, and times the police department will call the client’s home to check on their welfare.

Senior Watch Program
The “Senior Watch” program is for senior who my need our help more than others. These seniors may not have family to check on them or provide assistance. The Police Department would visit the client once a week or more—to check on their welfare.
