                                                                Work Shop Minutes
                                                                     May 30, 2018

Work shop meeting was held on May 30, 2018 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road Poland, Ohio.

Mr. Canter calls roll call- Ms. Wollet, Mr. Ungaro and Mr. Kempers are all present.

Mr. Canter opens the meeting by explaining the townships legal debt cannot exceed 5% of property valuation. Mr. Canter states that an average bond is five years and can go ten years under certain circumstances.  On a residential property that averages $500,000, with a 1.25 mills levy would cost $218.00 per year as opposed to 3.5 mills would be $382.00 per year. A home valuation of $100,000 with a 1.25 mills levy would cost $44.00 per year as opposed to 3.5 mills which would cost $76.00 per year. These figures are not exact and we will receive exact numbers from the county.  In order to obtain a bond, a law firm would be needed as part of the bond consol.

Records of when the roads were paved have been reviewed for the last 15 years. Twenty percent of roads chosen to be repaired would be done within the first year. Then intention is to pave the worse roads first than work down to the minor roads. If the resolution passes in 2018 the collection will occur in 2019.

Mr. Ungaro speaks to ask for 4.5 million for 7 years then ask for 4.5 million for 5 years to be able to get the streets paved that have not been paved recently. The bond will pass a resolution at the next board meeting.

Mr. Ungaro motions to adjourn at 6:24 pm, seconded by Ms. Wollet.  Voting yes - Ungaro, Wollet & Kempers.

Motion passed.
