JUNE 8TH, 2016

REGULAR MEETING

 

The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting June 8th, 2016 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, Ohio.

Officer Kent leads in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Scharville calls roll call. Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet were present.

Ungaro motions to approve minutes dated April 13th, 2016. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motions to approve minutes dated May 11th, 2016. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motions to approve minutes dated May 24th, 2016. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motions to authorize payment for all outstanding checks for the township. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Paul Canter was not present to give financial report.

Ungaro motions to approve the lease agreement with Mahoning County Green Team. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motions to approve Resolution 16-08; Nuisance Orders for the following addresses. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motions to approve the pay increase of Steve Cramer to $12 per hour beginning the next pay period. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Lidle motions to approve the hire of summer help for the road department at Ohio minimum wage not to exceed 30 hours. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.

Dan Havalo – 2429 Timothy Knoll Dr – was present to talk about the ATV issue on North Lima Road and possible solutions.

Ungaro motions to accept the management consultant agreement for Poland Township for 2016 with Clemons Nelsons as written and approved by the Mahoning County Commissions. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet, and Lidle.

Ungaro motions to reject all bids for the Poland Township Government Center’s roof as per advice from the prosecutor. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Wollet motions for 2016 paving of the following roads - Camella Dr, Candywood, Hilltop, and a portion of Christina Court. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Wollet, Ungaro, and Lidle.

PARK COMMITTEE:

Mike Heher is present to give monthly report.         

RECYCLING DEPARTMENT:

Scharville is present to give monthly report.

ZONING DEPARTMENT:

Bob Monus is present to give monthly report. For the month of May there were a total valuation of $648,839 and total fees collected of $5,883.

ROAD DEPARTMENT:

Tom Monus is present to give monthly report.

POLICE DEPARTMENT:

Chief Goodin is present to give monthly stats.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Phyllis Ricchiuti – Comes forward to talk about the weeds and solutions to clean up the weeds in the community.

Ungaro motions at 7:05 p.m. to adjourn from the regular township meeting and enter into the Public Hearing for the Polo Lighting District. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.
