Regular Meeting

 

The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting June 24th, 2015 at 6:02pm at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, Ohio.

 

Sgt. Aracich Leads in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Scharville calls roll call. Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet were present.

 

Ungaro motioned to approve the minutes dated May 13, 2015 and June 12, 2015. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

 

Ungaro motioned to authorize payment for all outstanding checks for the township. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

 

Lidle motioned to accept all the bids for the 2015 Resurfacing of Various Roads in Poland Township. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.

 

Lidle motioned to send forward the contract from the lowest bidder, Butch & McCree ($137,050.71), to the county prosecutors for review. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.

 

Lidle presents a plaque to Sgt. Aracich in memory of Paco.

 

Wollet takes a second to talk briefly of the concerns with Aqua Ohio.

 

Heather Heid – 6637 Shawbutte Rd. – Speaks of concern of the amount of traffic speeding on Shawbutte Road. The board discusses this issue for several moments.

 

Ron and Sharon Backo – 7634 Covermeade Rd. – Speaks of concerns of their property and neighbor’s property. The board discusses this issue for several moments.

 

Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #15-13: Nuisance Notice. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet, and Lidle.

 

Paul Canter was not present to give the Financial Report for May, 2015.

 

Park Committee:

 Ken Filicky gave monthly report.

 

Recycling Department:

 Scharville gave monthly report.

 

Zoning Department:

 Monus gave monthly report. Total evaluation for May was $611,500. Fees - $4,455.

 

Road Department:

Monus gave monthly report.

 

Police Department:

 Chief Goodin gave stats for the month of May.

 

Public Comment:

 

Christine Clontidine - 3007 Highland – Speaks of her concern of the safety issues regarding the abandoned house.

 

Cheryl Williams – 3100 Highland – Asks about who’s at fault if a tree falls unto the street.

 

Sam White – 3006 Highland – Speaks of his concern of the water and the health issues regarding the abandoned house.

 

At 7:31 pm Ungaro made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.
