Regular Meeting Agenda

The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting at 6pm on August 12th, 2015 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, Ohio.

Brianna leads in The Pledge of Allegiance.

Scharville calls roll calls. Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet were present.

Ungaro motioned to approve minutes dated July 8th, 2015 and Special meeting minutes, July 8th, 2015, Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motioned to authorize payment for all outstanding checks for the township. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Paul Canter is present to give the Financial Report for July 2015. Revenue - $121,253.65. Expenditures - $296,016.21.

Ungaro motioned to approve Resolution #15-18: Nuisance Notice. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motioned to approve Resolution #15-19: Transfer to Police Fund. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motioned to correct Resolution #15-14 for the dated to be correct. The truck is not 2015, but 2016. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet, and Lidle.

Brianna DiFabio – 3153 Saginaw Drive. Approaches the trustees to discuss autism and proposes that signs are put up to alert drivers of autism children.

Sherry Depaul - 8045 Camella Drive approaches the trustees to discuss zoning issue with a neighbor putting up a poorly constructed fence without discussing it with neighbors first.

Terry Sullivan – 8626 Fairweather Dr. – Approaches the trustees to discuss the fence being built in her friend’s yard by the neighbor.

Louann Miller - 8055 Camella Drive – Approaches the trustees to discuss the fence and the concern of her property value decreasing due to the fence being built.

Jonathon Brunell – 8039 Cliffview Dr – The owner of the home building the fence approaches the Trustees. He discusses the issue with neighbors dumping things such as of leaves in his woods and riding four wheelers in his yard. He also discusses a view other issues with the neighbors and safety of his children which lead to the decision to build the fence. Jonathon’s wife approached to discuss the fence.

PARK COMMITTEE:

Mike Heher gave monthly report. He also gives the updates on the park trails.

Flag football association asked permission to practice in the park.

Discusses the want to build a basketball court in the park. The board discusses this for a few moments.

Discusses the plans for a sled riding hill to be completed by the fall.

ZONING DEPARTMENT:

Monus gave the monthly report. Total evaluation for July was $111,206. Fees – 1,603.

 

ROAD DEPARTMENT:

Monus Gave the monthly report.

Ungaro motioned to purchase a 1 Dose from Power Tool and Supply not to exceed $3800. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

 

POLICE DEPARTMENT:

Chief Goodin gave the stats for July.

Lidle motions to approve the purchase of equipment for the new police cruiser from various vendors in the amount not to exceed $4,500. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.

Ungaro motioned to approve in the payback of the police guns to not exceed $2000 to upgrade to new model. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet, and Lidle.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Dana Balash - 7673 Coblers Run – Approaches trustees to discuss a letter to Congressman Ryan’s office.

 

Ungaro motions to adjourn at 7:17 to enter into executive session. Seconded by Liddle. Voting yes- Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Lidle motions to re-enter regular session. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.

Lidle motions to hire James Marco as part time police office. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes- Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.

Lidle motions to Adjourn. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.
