                                                                                  REGULAR MEETING

The Poland Township Board of Trustees held a regular meeting September 8, 2021 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road Poland, Ohio.

Mr. Ungaro calls the meeting to order. 

Mr. Canter leads the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mr. Scharville does roll call. Ungaro, Kempers, and Wollet are present.

Mr. Ungaro request a moment of silence for the 911 victims.

Mr. Ungaro motions to approve the minutes dated August 11, 2021. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes - Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.

Mr. Ungaro motions to authorize payment for all outstanding bills for the Township. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.

Mr. Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #21-31: Second Amendment WRJFD. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.

Mr. Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #21-32: Nuisance Notice:

  • 8827 Woodland Drive

Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.

Mr. Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #21-33: Rate Budget Commission. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORT:
Mr. Canter is present to give July report:
         Revenue- $1,047,118.75
         Expenditure- $187,289.69

Mr. Ungaro motions to approve resignation letter from Michael Day, Road Department effective 09/14/2021. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.     

PARK COMMITTEE:

Mr. Flicky is present to give monthly report.

RECYCLING:

Mr. Scharville is present, nothing to report.

ZONING DEPARTMENT:

Mr. Robert Monus is present to give monthly report.

Monthly report from July.
  • 1 new structure, valuation- $206,160; fees collected-$1,453
  • 16 additional improvements, valuation-$165,916; fees collected-$1,190
  • 8 misc. permits issued for a total of -$40.00; 0-appeals, misc-0; 0-admendment, 31 violations for the month; total valuation for the month- $372,076; total fees collected-$2,683.
ROAD DEPARTMENT:
Mr. Tommy Monus is present to give monthly report.                                                                            

Mr. Ungaro motions to approve JS Bova Excavating to start and complete Venloe storm sewer Projects, not to exceed $26,000. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.  

POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief Goodin is present to give monthly report.

Mr. Ungaro motions to approve to extend Chief Goodin’s contract to 2/28/2022 at the rate of $43.75/hr effected today.  Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.

ELECTED OFFICIAL COMMENTS:

Mr. Kempers - Give thanks the police force for their quick response and excellent service.
