Ron Massullo called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. 

1st Order of Business:

Ron Massullo stated that the first order of business is to approve the minutes from the June 27, 2018 and July 11, 2018 meetings.

Frank Mazzocca made a motion to approve the minutes from the June 27, 2018 meeting.  Gene McCullough seconded the motion.  All members were in favor.  Minutes approved.

Frank Mazzocca made a motion to approve the minutes from the July 11, 2018 meeting.  Ron Massullo seconded the motion.  All members were in favor.  Minutes approved.

2nd Order of Business:

Ron Massullo stated this is a public hearing for Case ZC-04-18. He stated that the recommendations were approved at the Mahoning County Planning Commission meeting on July 24, 2018.  Massullo proceeded to review the language in each proposed amendment.

Section 5.01 R-PUD Residential Planned Unit Development District – change minimum parcel size to five (5) acres.

Section 4.10 OF Office District – add item (e) Barber shops and beauty shops, permanent makeup and related beauty shop activity.

Section 7.30 Parking and Storage of Motor Vehicles and Commercial Tractor Trailers – item (2.) No boats, motor homes, trailers, recreational vehicles, smokers, cookers, barbeque units mounted on chassis or equipment of any type shall be parked or stored between the front lot line, and the front building line of any lot or parcel, and must be located at least three (3) feet from side property line within a Residential, Estate, Town Center, and Office district.

Section 6.04 Design Standards – number (7.) to repeal item.

Section 4.05 AG Agricultural District – number 3. c., to repeal item.

Section 4.06 E Estate District – number 3. b., to repeal item.

Massullo asked if there were any comments.  There were no comments from the Board members and no members of the public present.

Motion

Ron Massullo made a motion to approve Case ZC-04-18 inclusive of all six (6) sections.  Bill Gardner seconded the motion.

Good of the Order:

Gene McCullough stated that there is an interest for condos in Poland Township.  He stated that we are behind the times as far as Canfield is concerned with their developments.  Previous condo requests have been denied.  Massullo stated he is aware of this and plans on having recurring workshop sessions to hopefully address these issues.

Patty Magazzine mentioned that the change to five (5) acres in Section 5.01 Residential Planned Unit Development District will also help to address these issues.
